GameStop’s (GME) new job posting, Head of Web3 gaming, states that NFT creators will be building in-game components and entire games. The new job posting came after GME updated its NFT website with an application form for creators.
With the help of Ethereum technology, the video game retailer plans to build a new NFT platform to “change the game.” This month, another meme stock, AMC Entertainment, released its third NFT.
In late October, GameStop posted a slew of NFT-platform and Web3 gaming jobs on its career page, sparking speculation about what and when the company will launch.
In May 2021, GameStop hinted at the creation of an NFT marketplace. Things appear to be gearing up for a launch soon. The message can be found on the NFT website at GameStop “Power to the Players. Power to the creators. Power to the collectors.” A link to an Ethereum-based contract address is provided beneath the image.
The words “calling all creators” now appear in the headline of GameStop’s NFT site. And by filling out a web form, users can request to join the site to become a GameStop NFT creator.
