AMC to accept Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash

AMC says, Tuesday, July 12, 2016, that the transaction will make it the biggest movie theater operator in the world. Odeon & UCI has 242 theaters in Europe. The deal will give AMC a total of 627 theaters in eight countries.

AMC’s CEO Adam Aron today announced on twitter that the theatre chain will start accepting Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash along with Bitcoin by year end.

During their Q2 earnings call, AMC announced that they are exploring cryptocurrencies and blockchains and plans to accept Bitcoin, end of the year 2021. AMC is making it clear that they will be supporting all major cryptocurrencies, while all major banks and financial service companies have started to embrace cryptocurrencies.

During their Q2 earnings call, Adam Aron also announced that AMC will start accepting payments through Apple Pay and Google Pay by the end of the year.

This news comes days after the world’s largest theatre chain announced its all new $25 million ad campaign.
